Zumba at Sumava

With the weather getting better every day, already second Zumba event is planned at Sumava. The Zumba trainer Alenka Collis is full of energy and ready to get you moving. Only a few days after the annual general meeting of the Slovak Social Club "Ludovit Stur" took place at the Slovak House in Laverton, the Australian Slovaks' Association in Victoria are holding their annual general meeting at the Cyril and Methodius Slovenian Mission's Baraga House.

ASA/V, formed in 1951, is the longest running organisation drawing together Slovaks in Victoria, Australia. If you are interested in becoming a member and having a say, this is the right time. Annual membership is only $10.

Celebrations in Honour of Saint Wenceslaus

Wenceslaus is the main patron saint of the Czech Republic. The peoples of the Czech Republic and Slovakia have always venerated their great martyr, and in the past they have certainly shared deeply in his sufferings. Every year, at the anniversary of Saint Wenceslaus' death, they pray that the future will be happy and holy for these nations and for their sons and daughters who have made their home in Australia.

BBQ, Picnic and Soccer

The Australian Slovaks' Association in Victoria invite you to the traditional picnic at Ruffey Lake Park. The picnic starts at 11am, soccer match is on from 1pm.

If you have not been to Ruffey Lake, make sure to join us on the day. It is a beautiful park, not far from the city, popular among families with children, with facilities for kids, sports and BBQ.

Working Bee at Sumava

On the weekend before the Saint Wenceslaus celebrations, a working bee will be held at Sumava Peksa Park. Like every year at this time, the ouside areas will be cleaned up, and main hall prepared for lunch.

Bring your own food and drinks, camp fire and BBQ will be set up. Every helping hand is welcome!

Father's Day Function
