Czechs in Australia Day People's March
For the the very first time, together with over fifty groups representing diverse communities that build up Australia, proud Czechs will march the streets of Melbourne City at the 2014 Australia Day's March.
Wearing folk costumes from various regions of Bohemia and Moravia, under Australian and Czech flags, join the crowds and the Victorian Premier and Governor, and the Lord Mayor of Melbourne for the official Flag Raising ceremony. Then, march with us along Swanston Street, over the river and into Domain Gardens.
For those who wish to dress into the traditional costumes, we are meeting at 8 am at Sokol Melbourne, 497 Queensberry Street, North Melbourne. The parking is available in the surrounding streets. We will get to the city by car/tram for the parade and we will change back at Alexandra Gardens. The small lunch will be provided to all the attendees. Please RSVP to book the costume and lunch to info@vodafest.org
