Father's Day Function

Date: Saturday 3. September 2011
Location: Slovak House, 105 Triholm Ave, Laverton VIC

Father's day function will be held with the performance of the dance group "Liptarik" and the Slovak Language School "Ludovit Stur" students.

Even if you won't make it to Laverton on the day, be sure to take your dad out for dinner on Sunday!

Working Bee at Sumava

Date: Saturday 17. September 2011 from 10am
Location: Sumava Peksa Park, 46 Locks Way, Belgrave VIC

On the weekend before the Saint Wenceslaus celebrations, a working bee will be held at Sumava Peksa Park. Like every year at this time, the ouside areas will be cleaned up, and main hall prepared for lunch.

Bring your own food and drinks, camp fire and BBQ will be set up. Every helping hand is welcome!

BBQ, Picnic and Soccer

Date: Sunday 18. September 2011 from 11am
Location: Ruffey Lake Park, Doncaster VIC (off Victoria Street)

The Australian Slovaks' Association in Victoria invite you to the traditional picnic at Ruffey Lake Park. The picnic starts at 11am, soccer match is on from 1pm. If you have not been to Ruffey Lake, make sure to join us on the day. It is a beautiful park, not far from the city, popular among families with children, with facilities for kids, sports and BBQ.

Celebrations in Honour of Saint Wenceslaus

Date: Sunday 25. September 2011
Location: Sumava Peksa Park, 46 Locks Way, Belgrave VIC

Wenceslaus is the main patron saint of the Czech Republic. The peoples of the Czech Republic and Slovakia have always venerated their great martyr, and in the past they have certainly shared deeply in his sufferings. Every year, at the anniversary of Saint Wenceslaus' death, they pray that the future will be happy and holy for these nations and for their sons and daughters who have made their home in Australia.
