VodaFest 2013

Date: Saturday 16. March 2013 from 12pm noon to 8pm
Location: Austrian Club Melbourne, 90 Sheehan Rd, Heidelberg West VIC

Program

This year's headliner is Miss Vendulka Wichta, a Czech-origin finalist of the 2012 X-Factor singing competition. Special guest is the Polish dance ensemble Polonez. We're going to introduce new talents, too, and a unique dance performance by the Slovak Social Club "Ludovit Stur"'s Liptar dance group.

The opening will belong to the children from Czech and Slovak schools in Melbourne. We are going to have Slovak music family band of the Rauzas. The popular Melbourne-based Czech violinist Marcy Taylor will perform. A number of cultural exhibitions is being prepared for you.

You can look forward to crafts and arts, colorful kids’ activities, balloons and a jumping castle! From the Czech and Slovak cuisine, you'll get to taste grilled sausages, goulash, six varieties of Czech beer, and more!

Competitions

Make sure to join one of our festival competitions, the Images from Home photography competition or the Babovka Competition! To join the photo competition, send us an email to secretary@vodafest.org and attach up to 5 of pictures taken by you. They can be city or nature, portraits, the only condition is that they were taken by you in the Czech or Slovak Republic. $250 in prize money is up for grabs! Olympic in Melbourne

Picnic and Football Match

Date: Sunday 24. February 2013 from 11am
Location: Jells Park, Ferntree Gully Rd, Wheelers Hill VIC

Australian Slovaks' Association in Victoria kindly invites you, your family and friends to a picnic and football match in Jells Park. The meeting point is the picnic area, the closest entrance from South gate Ferntree Gully Road. Football kick-off will start approximately at 3pm. Grilled sausages available, B.Y.O. refreshment. Mask Ball at Sokol
