Czech and Slovak Newsletter - November 2013

The VodaFest Czech and Slovak Association Committee has been busy organising new events. The Halloween Party at the Heart of Europe was a success and we all had a lot of fun. We saw some great costumes on the night and we had a great trivia quiz, apple bobbing and fortune telling.

VodaFest at Polish Festival

Date: Sunday, 17. November 2013 from 10am
Location:  Federation Square, Melbourne VIC

The VodaFest Czech and Slovak Association is going to have a stall at the 2013 Polish Festival at the Federation Square this Sunday. We will be serving traditional Czech and Slovak food such as goulash, "cikanska", cakes and much more. Proceedings from the event will go towards our community projects. We are looking forward to see you all at the Federation Square this weekend!

Sumava Playground Opening

Date: Saturday, 23. November 2013 from 11am
Location: Sumava Peksa Park, 46 Locks Way, Belgrave South VIC

The VodaFest Czech and Slovak Assocation would like to invite you to the opening of the children's playground at Sumava Peksa Park. We will be celebrating with a BBQ while children will be able to try out the new playground. The day will be full of activities for children - performance by the amateur theatre KUK and the Czech school of Melbourne. You are all welcome to join us!

The playground has been built from the profits of the past VodaFest - Czech and Slovak Association events. In this way VodaFest - Czech and Slovak Association would like to contribute to the Czech and Slovak Communities and extend a Thank You to all its helpers and supporters.

Save the Date for the 2004 VodaFest

Preparations for the next year's VodaFest Czech and Slovak Festival aare well under way and we have good news for you.The date has been confirmed so you can save the date the 22nd of March 2014. If you visited the festival before you'll know that you're going to be able to taste traditional Czech and Slovak food, various kinds of beer and lots more! And you know what they say about the Czech beer - apparently it is the best in the world so you better come and try some. Do not forget to add this date to your calendar!

As you can see the VodaFest Czech and Slovak Association is here to help the community and support the Czech and Slovak culture in Australia.  If you'd like to be be part of this great cause you might like to consider becoming a member of the Association. It is a great opportunity for everyone to to get to know new people and have fun while bringing to life some of the Czech and Slovak culture and traditions.

Traditional Christmas lunch with turkey, ham, cookies and coffee. Price: $25

New Year's Eve Dinner Dance at Sokol

Date: Tuesday, 31. December 2013 from 8pm
Location: National House, 497 Queensberry St, Melbourne VIC

Sokol invites you to the traditional New Year's Eve Dinner Dance with live music. Price is $60 including dinner. Make sure to purchase tickets before 5. December. For more info contact Vera Zlaty.
