A Tea Party at the Senator’s

Czech Spring Festival of Hobart 2011
Date: Tuesday, 1 November - Sunday, 6 November
Location: Hobart TAS
The festival is only a few days away and it looks like it is going to be lots of fun. Here is just a few highlights -- Czech dumplings in a rare mushroom sauce, screening of two Czech films, Tasmania's largest private collection of Bohemia Crystal vases and Australia's finest Jitrnice feast as seen on SBS's Gourmet Farmer.

Schubert and Chardonnay
Date: Sunday, 6 November from 3pm

Beer Fest at Koliba
Date: Friday, 11 November - Sunday, 13 November from 5pm
Location: Koliba Czech and Slovak Restaurant, 11 Johnston Street, Collingwood VIC
Koliba Czech and Slovak Restaurant are throwing a beer festival this year, featuring live music, beer garden, $6 large Czech beer on tap, grilled specials, and more. Running for three days, this is a great event for everyone looking to start Czech and Slovak summer in style. It is also a great opportunity to invite friends of other nationalities and introduce them to our cuisine and traditional beverages.
Christmas Traditions for Kids
Date: Sunday, 27 November from 11am
Location: Sumava Peksa Park, 46 Locks Way, Belgrave South VIC
Want your children to learn about Christmas in Europe, or bring back your memories from back home? Would you like to try traditional food and sweets, see customs and sing Christmas songs? Then make sure to join us at Sumava on the day, where a number of hands-on workshops will be on program. You will get to decorate your own Christmas ginger bread, as well as learn about unique pre-Christmas and Christmas Eve customs and rituals.
Entry fee is a Christmas themed food platter for four persons and a gold coin donation to cover costs.

Also, the time is here to start thinking about Christmas presents. For those of you who would like to please your close ones with something Slovak-Australian, the Slovaks in Australia 2012 calendars will be available for sale at most of of the above events.
