European Beer Festival at Heart of Europe
Date: Friday-Saturday, 18.-19. October 2013, from 5pm
Location: Heart of Europe, 11 Johnston St, Collingwood VIC
Spit roasted piglet, special meat platters, two beers on tap, pear brandy and schnapps on offer the whole weekend. Come to enjoy the European Beer Festival with us!
Working Bee at Sumava
Date: Saturday, 19. October 2013 from 10am
Location: Sumava Peksa Park, 46 Locks Way, Belgrave South VIC
VodaFest – Czech and Slovak Association invites all bees to help us finilising the Children Playground project at Sumava. We will be painting the cubby house, smoothing the sandpit and testing the slide.
Slovak Folk Cimbalom Dinner Dance
Date: Saturday, 19. October 2013 from 7pm
Location: St. Gregory's Hall, 396 Manningham Rd, Doncaster VIC
ASAV invites you to listen and dance to professional folk musicians from Slovakia who will be playing for your enjoyment. For dinner a traditional homemade pork banquet with Sluka's famous smoked sausages will be served. Don't miss this great combination of music and food!
Entry is at $10 for members, $15 non-members, free for children. Roast pork and homemade smoked sausages are $15. Coffee, tea, cake for $3.
Halloween Party at Heart of Europe
Date: Thursday, 31. October 2013 from 6:30pm
Location: Heart of Europe, 11 Johnston Street, Collingwood
Come and join us for the Halloween party! We will celebrate the night when souls of the dead come back to earth for a visit, as believed by old Celtic tribes. Turn into a witch or a pumpkin head, just make sure you wear a Halloween costume. The most original costume wins a prize. We will have fun sorting out Halloween trivia quiz, apple bobbing or fortune telling. We will learn more about Halloween and its traditions.
Free entry for everyone, choice of schnitzel or fried cheese, plus a cake, for $20. Pint of beer only $6.
Homework: bring a hand-carved submission into our pumpkin competition. The most unique piece will win a special prize.
